Resolutions Are Great, But Why Wait

19 Dec, 2017 Book Writing

No matter how you celebrate this time of year, you can’t help but get swept up in the spirit and energy of everyone around you.

And, what is one of the most common messages we hear this time of year?

New Year’s Resolutions!

Each year promises to be a fresh start, a chance to push your limits and achieve bigger and better things.

You may even have something you’re taking from 2017 that didn’t already get realized.

One of those things may be becoming a published author.

Believe me, resolutions are great. But, why wait?

Isn’t anytime a great time to become a published author? To step into your greatness?

Once you get past the fluff and all the hullabaloo, January 1st is just another day. So why not choose TODAY, to get closer to a big goal?

Start Taking Action

Taking action is one of the most steps I encourage in soon-to-be authors; if you don’t do anything with it, it doesn’t do you a bit of good.

If you have a goal, something you haven’t accomplished, or know what you want in life but aren’t sure when or how to get started, you just have to jump off the deep end.

If you’re waiting for things to get easier, for “everything to fall into place” before you take action, you could be waiting forever.

If becoming a published author is something you truly want, and you need a little encouragement, a bit of a push or pull, come to “Book Bound by the Sea.”

Stop Procrastinating

Procrastination may seem like inaction, but there’s a big difference. With procrastination, we tend to fill our time with meaningless or less important tasks to avoid something bigger.

Why do we procrastinate? What is really so important in life that we have to put our dreams on the back burner?

Maybe it’s the fear of the challenge, judgment of others or switching up the status quo. Whatever the reason, you are the one who procrastinates, and you are the one who can make it stop.

Take Control of Your Day

How are you currently spending your time and filling your days?

Tomorrow morning, grab a pen and paper and start to track your day; for now, don’t try to change your normal routine, just notice it and write down your findings.

How often are prioritizing distractions versus what really needs to get done?

Caving into distractions can be a result of being overwhelmed. When you feel like you have too much on your plate, take it one step at a time.

Take the Plunge

Sometimes the best method is to just rip it off like a band aid. In other words, GET STARTED!

You don’t have to wait for January 1st.

If you want to lose weight, go on a walk, right now!

If you want to buy a new car, create a savings plan and start committing today!

If you want to become a published author finally, sign up for “Book Bound by the Sea”, where you’ll be joined by a community of soon-to-authors and alumni who will support and grow with you, as you get your book OUT of your head and ON to paper.
